This app stores quiz progress on your device and synchronizes pseudonymous data (no personal information) with our cloud service to enable the leaderboard and cross-device features. Unless you choose to sign in (Google or Apple), we do not collect names, emails, contacts, location, or any personally identifying information. If you sign in, we collect your email address to manage your account — see “Optional Sign-In” below.
The app creates an anonymous account on our servers (Supabase) automatically when first launched. The following pseudonymous data is stored:
Unless you sign in, we do not collect: your name, email, phone number, address, contacts, photos, location (GPS); no IDFA (Apple advertising identifier), nor any device identifier that could be used to track you across apps.
By default the app runs on an anonymous account and we do not know who you are. You can optionally sign in with Google or Apple to secure your account and sync your progress across devices. If you sign in, we collect your email address (with Sign in with Apple you may use Apple's Private Relay address) and link it to your account. We use it only to identify your account and enable cross-device sync — never for advertising — and we never sell or share it. You can use the app fully without ever signing in.
This data is used solely to: enable the leaderboard, allow you to compare your progress with other users, and synchronize your progress across devices. We do not sell, share, or use this data for advertising or any other purpose.
When you play in competitive mode, your display name, your selected commune and your score are visible to other users on public leaderboards.
We process your data on the following legal bases (Art. 6(1) GDPR; the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, nFADP, provides equivalent bases):

The app uses Supabase (supabase.com) as a backend service to store the data described above. Supabase Inc. is based in the United States; your data is stored within the European Union (AWS Ireland region, eu-west-1). Supabase support staff in the United States may access the data, which constitutes a transfer to a third country. This transfer is covered by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) together with the Swiss addendum recognised by the FDPIC, under Supabase's own privacy terms (supabase.com/privacy). The app uses no advertising networks, analytics tools, or tracking technologies.
The app may show an optional donation link that opens PayPal in your browser. We receive no payment data; any transaction is handled entirely by PayPal under its own privacy terms. On iOS, optional donations use (or will soon use) Apple In-App Purchase instead of an external link.

We collect technical device information (device model, operating system version, app version, platform identifier) for crash diagnosis and performance monitoring, via our own backend (Supabase, self-managed). This data is not personally identifiable and is processed exclusively to keep the app working. We use no third-party analytics, crash-reporting or telemetry SDKs (no Sentry, no Firebase, no Crashlytics, no Google Analytics).
We keep your data only as long as needed:
You can delete your account and data at any time, in two ways:
Deletion removes your display name, avatar, email and linked social identities, and soft-deletes your account identifier. Anonymous game data is retained for the integrity of historical leaderboards. Local data on your device can be deleted by uninstalling the app. For full details on what is deleted and how, see our Account & Data Deletion page.
Under the GDPR (and the Swiss nFADP) you have the right to access your data (Art. 15), rectify it (Art. 16), erase it (Art. 17), restrict its processing (Art. 18), receive it in a portable format (Art. 20), object to processing (Art. 21), and withdraw your consent at any time (Art. 7(3)). To exercise any of these, email swisscitizenshiptest@gmail.com; we reply within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (see the EDPB list of national authorities): in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali; in Switzerland, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (edoeb.admin.ch).
If a data breach is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the competent supervisory authority within 72 hours (Art. 33 GDPR). If the breach is likely to result in a high risk, we will also inform affected users directly (Art. 34 GDPR).
This app is intended for users aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. Some EU member states set a lower digital-consent age (between 13 and 16; for example 14 in Italy); in those countries the national age applies, but never below 13. Below that age, the app may be used only with the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has used the app without such consent, contact us to request deletion.
