Real exam — How the test works

Two interviews: directorate and council

Basel-Landschaft has no written test. Assessment is oral, in two interviews (security directorate + citizens' council), with no fixed question set and no cantonal catalogue to mirror. For now, we prepare you with the basic federal questions (taken from Zürich's Grundkenntnistest) — these are not the real interview questions.

Cost
≈ CHF 3'500 GESAMTKOSTEN für Bund, Kanton und Gemeinde zusammen (Angabe Bürgergemeinde Muttenz) — nicht zusätzlich zu kantonalen und eidgenössischen Gebühren. §31/§32 SGS 110: Gemeinde- und Kantonsgebühr je max. CHF 2'000 (ausserordentlich 3'000).

The interview

§10 SGS 110 verlangt mündliche UND schriftliche Sprachkompetenzen mindestens auf Referenzniveau B1 — also B1 in allen vier Fertigkeiten. Das ist strenger als der eidgenössische Mindeststandard (B1 mündlich / A2 schriftlich). Wohnsitzfristen: 10 Jahre Schweiz, 5 Jahre Kanton, in der Regel 5 Jahre Gemeinde (das kommunale Reglement darf weder unter 2 noch über 5 Jahre gehen, §8 Abs. 4).
